VIDEO COURTESY OF NASA JSC ROBOTICS TEAM The Robonaut is a Anthropomorphic, Dexterous Robotic System designed for EVA compatibility by the Robotics team at Johnson Space Center. Please click photo to visit the Robonaut site. Grace Technology was chosen to manufacture prototype and spare components primarily for the hand and wrist of the Robonaut. The hands are modeled after the human hand with 5-finger Dexterity capable of primarily the same movements as it's human counterpart. Due to the complex design and close tolerances of these items. Grace Technology utilized 3D Design software and a 5 axis machining center in it's manufacturing processes to produce these parts to stringent specifications. For More Information Contact: |
